The locals have vented ire against Kathmandu Metropolis’ plan to construct the Kathmandu Tower at Old Bus Park.During the environmental impact assessment public hearing programme organized by Kathmandu Metropolis on Wednesday, the residents from Ward No 31 complained that the construction would not only cause air pollution but also pose hosts of problems as of sewerage.However, the information officer Mahesh Kafle said they would work as per the suggestions of the locals.Similarly, environmental engineer Salil Sapkota urged the locals not to worry much about environmental problems.As per the plan, the old bus park is vacated and the parking lot is arranged for the buses at the north corner of Khulamanch. The tower would be made quake-resistant. The estimated cost of the tower is Rs 3.50 billion.
